Antibiotic

Formula: Doxycycline Hiclate 4.6 %.

Indications: Treatment of canine ehrlichiosis. Treatment of anemic infections caused by mycoplasmas. Rickettsiosis treatment. Due to its wide spectrum, it is potentially useful for the treatment of mixed bacterial infections caused by organisms sensitive to doxycycline, such as respiratory tract infections, enteritis, urinary tract infections. It may be especially useful in patients unable to tolerate oral administration of doxycycline.

Dosage: General use for infections: 0.75 to 1.25 ml every 10 kg bw, equivalent to 3 - 5 mg/kg of Doxycycline, every 12 hours. In acute Ehrlichia canis infections: 1.25 every 10 kg bw, equivalent to 5 mg / kg every 12 hours, or 2.5 ml every 10 kg bw, equivalent to 10 mg/kg, every 24 hours. In chronic Ehrlichia canis infections: 2.5 ml every 10 kg bw, equivalent to 10 mg/kg, every 24 hours. Treatment duration: General use for infections: 7 to 14 days. In acute Ehrlichia canis infections: 14 to 16 days. In chronic Ehrlichia canis infections: 30 to 42 days.

Administration: Slow intravenous or intramuscular routes.

Presentation: 50 ml vial.
